Q: How Much Does It Cost

A: The base price is determined by the square footage of the roof with the exceptions and variables   being noted. Factors such as the number of stories, multiple gables, roof pitch, etc. may affect the cost. The current price for a standard roof is $.35 sq ft.

Q: How Long Does It Take

A: Roof cleaning from start to finish with an average size home can take anywhere from 3-6 hours.   Other factors such as the number of stories, multiple gables, roof pitch, etc. may take longer.

Q: How Long Before I See The Results From Cleaning?

A: Immediately! When we leave, your roof will be 100% free of Gloeocapsa Magma (algae)  Depending on the color of your shingles you may notice a light soapy film from our detergents. This film will rinse away with the first rain.

Q: Will The Chemicals You Use Damage My Roof?
A: No. Our chemicals are the only ones recommended and proven to clean roofs safely and are approved by the two largest asphalt roofing organizations, GAF/ELK and ARMA. Our chemicals and processes have been tested nationwide on over 50,000 roofs with no damage.

Q: Will You Be Pressure Washing My Shingle Roof?
A: NO! Pressure washing a shingle roof can and will dislodge the granules from the surface of the shingles and can damage the shingles causing problems. Additionally pressure washing itself will not kill the mold and algae and they will soon return. We use a no pressure when it comes to cleaning shingle roofs and only the “soft wash” procedure. We apply our A.R.M.A approved chemicals to the roof and let nature do the rest.

Q: Do I Need To Do Anything Before You Come?
A: YES! It will make it easier for us if you could do a few things prior to our arrival:

Please:
Put all lawn equipment, furniture and toys inside.
Keep all animals locked-up out of the way.
Put special plants well away from the house.
Move all cars out of the driveway.

Close all windows and doors tightly.

We will also provide you with a “Homeowners Handout” that will be very helpful.

Q: Do I Need To Be Home When My Roof Is Being Cleaned?
A: NO! We only ask that there be access to outside water, all windows and doors to be closed, with no cars in the driveway.

Q: How Long Does The Cleaning Results Last?
A:  The average time a roof will stays clean is around 2 years. But this varies due to a few factors depending on surrounding trees,  rainfall, and sun exposer. It is possible for algae to start to grow back within a few months but highly unlikely . We also offer maintenance programs that will provide continuous results at a discounted price. If you live in a very rainy area it is a good idea to maintain your roof cleaned once every year or two

Q: Will Cleaning My Roof Save Me Money?
A: Yes. Cleaning your roof can save you money in many ways. The algae and fungus can cause premature deterioration shortening roof shingle life substantially. You save money by extending the life of your roof without the need and cost of replacing it.
Next, when the algae turns your roof black, it becomes less reflective and much hotter. It retains heat longer and will require much more energy to cool your home. Your air conditioner will be working harder to overcome the increased heat load, costing you substantially more money in electric bills.
Then, you not only save money but can also make money because cleaning your roof will improve the curb appeal of your home dramatically improving it’s appearance and saleability. You not only save money but you make money too.

Q: Will Cleaning My Roof Damage The Shingles?
A: No! Not if the right methods are used. An inexperienced contractor or home owner can easily damage shingles by removing excessive amounts of shingle granules. The main enemy of roof cleaning is too much water pressure, never allow a pressure washer to be used on your roof!

Q: How Do You Clean The Shingles Without Causing Damage?
A: We use the low pressure methods recommended by the shingle manufacturers themselves. The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, ARMA, GAF, and Owens Corning have all suggested cleaning methods and solutions to clean roofs suffering from roof algae. They recommend using a low pressure chemical application which is what we do.

Q: How do you clean driveways?

A: We use high psi machines and a surface cleaner to give a even and consistent clean. Then use a high gallon per minute tip to rinse off all the dirt and dead algae leaving your driveway clean!

Q: How do you clean metal roofs?

A: We apply the chemicals as we would on a shingle or tile roof. Then use pressure washers to remove algae. Applying the chemical kills the algae making it so we do not have to use a lot of pressure to effectively clean the roof. Our main goal is to use as much low pressure as possible minimizing the chance of damaging the paint.

Q: How do you clean tile roofs?

A: We clean tile roof the exact same way as a shingle roof. Even though the tiles on these roofs are very strong, using high pressure on a tile roof can damage it. High pressure can damage the roofs underlayment, can loosen water proof flashings, and can etch the tiles. The safest way to clean these roofs is by soft washing them. Another benefit to soft washing tile roofs is you can cover a lot more ground and spend less time walking on the roof. This minimizing the chances of accidently cracking a tile if you step on it wrong.
